Citizens’ Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU) is a broad coalition that brings together over 800 like-minded civil society organizations and over eight thousand individuals to advocate for electoral democracy in Uganda. The overriding agenda of this coalition is to advocate and promote integrity, transparency and active citizen participation in Uganda’s electoral process.
Project title: Between rhetoric and practice: increasing transparency, integrity, accountability and citizen participation in Uganda’s electoral process
Project description: The project aims at complementing existing government programs and efforts in the area of sub-national elections to improve accountability in electoral processes between 2018 and 2021 through: i) observing local government, Parliamentary and sub-national elections e.g. in the newly created districts, and ii) mobilising citizens to actively and meaningfully participate in elections; monitoring elections will be strengthened by more analysis and research on the same local elections.
